The history of the genuine movements has experienced and faced the mental. Physical and psychological torture in the recent past in many corners of the world. In response to such inhuman and barbaric tactics the civilized international thinkers and human rights leaders has extended their sincerest support for organizing of seminars and conferences against the torture globally. Here in this part of the world the inhabitants of the civil society are subjected to torture and humiliation in their every day business from dawn to dusk, under the cover of the strictest provision of Armed Forces Special Powers Act, Disturbed Area Act, Public Safety Act etc. in force here since long. The present ground scenario is normal in its self explanatory nature to some extent and as such in any way not presents the slightest look of war zone like situations. Under these circumstances the trampling of the internationally guaranteed Human Rights and dealing of peaceful public with violent force also can be termed as a “mass torture” which in no way has any justification to support. Torture in any form and any where and at any stage of public movement is condemnable and as such the policy of torture is condemned on this U.N. Torture Day 2011 under same spirits as worked out against the torture globally by the civilized Human Rights leaders of the civilized nations. The barbaric state actions have resulted in thousands of killings, custodial deaths and Disappearances. The families of those killed or Disappeared and the slain militants are continuously being harassed systematically under a preplanned torture policy since long.

On the occasion of this year’s U.N.TORTURE DAY 2011 the J & K Salvation Movement and Joint Association Of Kashmiri Affected Families Jointly appeals the Amnesty International H.R.Organization for their sincere intervention providing for earliest revocation of Draconian Laws and to Forced Torture policy form the soil of Kashmir.

Kashmir is disputed territory: JKSM

The Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement has said that the Kashmir is a disputed territory and no one can deny the historic and political realities.

JKSM Chairman, Zaffar Akbar Bhat while addressing a party meeting said it is because of unresolved Kashmir that the people of Kashmir are facing miserable condition and uncertainly in the region, adding that the key of peace is in the resolution of Kashmir.

Bhat also strongly condemning the statement of Indian Congress leader, Makhan Lal Fotedar’s on Kashmir dispute said that such statements are meaningless and it is due to Indian rigidity and military might designs that the dispute is unresolved. He urged Indian government to accept ground realities and come forward for the resolution of Kashmir through tripartite talks.

The Kashmir is an international and human issue which involves the determination and future political status of the people of Jammu and Kashmir

Bhat while welcoming the recent European Parliament’s resolution on Kashmir and hoped that the EU, USA and other peace loving countries would increase their efforts to seek permanent solution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people.

Court quashes illegal detention of JKSM Chairman

Srinagar, February 07 : The High Court has quashed the illegal detention of APHC leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Zaffar Akbar Bhat under the black law, Public Safety Act and ordered his immediate release.

Zaffar Akbar Bhat was arrested in June 2010 and was detained in Shergarhi police station. Later, he was lodged at Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu.

Advocate Nazir Ahmed Ronga, appearing on behalf of the APHC leader before the court of Justice Muhammad Yaqoob, said that his client was not even provided with the grounds of detention. The court after hearing the case ordered the authorities to release the Hurriyet leader forthwith.

The JKSM spokesmanhas strongly denounced the continued detention of its Chairman who was suffering from various ailments.

In occupied Kashmir, illegally detained APHC leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM), Zafar Akbar Butt, has urged India to settle the Kashmir dispute for establishing permanent peace and stability in the South Asian region.

Zaffar Akbar Butt expressed these views while talking to a delegation of the JKSM that visited Kot Bhalwal Jail Jammu to meet the party Chairman and other detainees. The JKSM Chairman said that the longstanding dispute could be resolved through tripartite talks including Pakistan, India and the real Kashmiri leadership.

He said that unlawful detentions and use of force by the occupation authorities could not suppress Kashmiris’ resolve to get freedom from illegal Indian occupation of the territory. “India is using brute tactics to suppress the ongoing liberation struggle but it will not succeed in its nefarious designs,” he added.

Meanwhile, the members of the delegation expressed serious concern over plight of the detainees. “The detainees are not being provided with sufficient medical and food facilities due to which they have developed various ailments in the jail,” they maintained. They said that the jail authorities were subjecting the relatives of detained Kashmiris to maltreatment.

(JKSM) has strongly condemned the continued illegal detention of Hurriyet leaders and activists.

The Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM), a constituent of the All parties Hurriyet Conference, has strongly condemned the continued illegal detention of Hurriyet leaders and activists.

The spokesman of JKSM in a statement issued in Srinagar denounced the unlawful detention of a Kashmiri girl, Suraya and the wife of his brother, Mobeena, in Tral by the police. “The police are using unbridled powers to harass the families of pro-freedom leaders and activists,” he added.

He flayed the occupation forces for conducting raids on party leader, Sabzar Ahmad Dar’s house and shifting of a party activist after arrest to Kathua Jail. The spokesman demanded an immediate release of illegally detained party leader, Muzaffar Shakoor.

Expressing concern over deteriorating health of the detainees in different jails due to non-provision of sufficient medical facilities and hygienic food, he said that the party Chairman, Zaffar Akbar Butt, was languishing in Kot Bhalwal jail for the last eight months. He appealed the world human rights organizations to impress upon India to release the detainees. »

Boy killed, another injured in a blast

Srinagar, December 11: An 11-year boy was killed and another was injured in a blast in Mendhar area of Poonch district on Saturday evening. 11-year-old Mohammad Iftikhar, son of Mohammad Lateef was killed and his younger brother, Shokwat Hussain was injured when an explosive device went off near Army’s firing range in Bera Datti area of Mendhar town in Poonch district. The injured youth was rushed to the nearby hospital for treatment.

The duo was searching for scrap at the firing range when they fiddled with an explosive device. “A boy died and another injured in the explosion that was apparently caused by a detonator.

The High Court Bar Association and acting chairman of J&K Salvation Movement has condemned the killing of Ghulam Nabi Mir, uncle of Advocate Hilal Rashid of Pampore.

On October 7, Ghulam Nabi was hit on head by gun butts and beaten to pulp outside his house by a joint party of police and paramilitary CRPF, the Association said. He later succumbed to his injuries at, Soura here on Oct 14. A team of Bar members including Rafiq Joo, Bashir Siddique visited the bereaved family and prayed for the deceased.

I am aware about the recent natural calamity in Pakistan and I am shocked at the trauma and devastation wrought by the recent floods in Pakistan. I wish to express my solidarity with all those who have suffered loss of life and livelihoods.

I know that lakhs of Pakistanis are rendered homeless due to this flood and are celebrating this Eid in a miserable condition. I wish to assure you that kashmiri people living all across the world, are with you at this time of pain and suffering. I appeal to Kashmiri International Diasphora and all those Kashmiris living around the globe to play their leading role and help the flood affectees generousely. I am thankful to you on the pivotal role played by your daily for last 20 years for the projection of popular freedom struggle of Jammu & Kashmir. It was because of the continuous coverage in your newspaper and other Pakistani print as well as electronic media that Kashmir Issue was highlighted in the whole world community and it got central focus in various international forums. Indeed Pakistan was playing role of real advocate of Kashmiris at international level.

But I am sorry to say that Pakistani media could not project the 2008 uprising in Kashmir on land row and Israeli type settlements of Hindu pockets in the name of Amaranth Shrine Board. In that uprising hundreds of Kashmiris have embraced martyrdom and got world attention but unfortunately Pak media could not play the proper role. Same is the case in recent uprising in which India is busy in systematic genocide of Kashmiris and innocent youth are being butchered on daily basis and due coverage is not given in Pak media.

One aspect of this letter is to remind you the responsibility which Pakistan has in case of Kashmir. The movement has now entered the decisive phase and at this time people of Kashmir need your due support. India has left no stone unturned to crush the current freedom struggle and more than one lac people are martyred in last 2 decades. Indian forces are busy in killing the people of Kashmir since her occupation but I want to draw your attention towards the recent killing spree in Kashmir. Recently people came on roads to protest against the Indian illegal occupation in Kashmir and launched the peaceful,” Quit Kashmir Movement” but Indian ruthless forces fired bullets on them which resulted in the killing of 68 innocent Kashmiris from 8-year-old boy to 80 year old man in last two months.

Hundreds of Kashmiris have been arrested including me, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Naeem Ahmed Khan, Syed Ali Geelani, Muhammad Yasin Malik during recent uprising. He urged India to withdraw its troops, repeal black laws and release of all Hurriyet leaders, activist and civilians languishing in different jails, interrogation centers in Kashmir and out side valley.

Addressing a meeting in Azad Kashmir Bhat while expressing grave concern over the continued killing, injuring and arresting of young boys in Kashmir said the right to self-determination of the people in Kashmir could not be compromised.

Altaf Bhat has said that time has come India should accept ground reality and to vacate its forces from Kashmir as the resolution of the Kashmir issue is the key to peace in the region and for India and Pakistan to have cordial ties.

The Joint Association of Kashmiri Affected Families (JAKAF) has appealed to the international human rights organisations to impress upon India to stop killing of innocent Kashmiri people in the territory.
The spokesman of the organisation in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the continued massive protest demonstrations had frustrated the occupation authorities and they were targeting and killing the innocent Kashmiri youth.

Srinagar, August 09: The APHC AJK Chapter leader and acting Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Tufail Altaf Bhat paying glowing tributes to martyred APHC leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz urged people to continue the ongoing peaceful protest demonstrations and to make it a success. Hurriyet leader, Altaf Bhat in a statement while hailing the Kashmiri people for rendering supreme sacrifices for the righteous cause said that the sacrifices had centre-staged the Kashmir dispute at the regional and international level would not be allowed to go waste. JKSM acting Chairman vowed to continue the mission of martyrs, despite all odds.

Bhat while urging people to make 2nd martyrdom anniversary of APHC leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz successful said the martyrdom anniversary of the martyred leader will be also observed in Muzaffarabad and Islamabad.
He has appealed to the international community including the United Nations, the Organisations of Islamic Conference and human rights bodies to take cognisance of the atrocities being committed by paramilitary forces and police men against Kashmiri people in the territory.

17 martyred, hundreds injured in firing by troops in 2 days

Srinagar, August 03 (KMS): The killing spree by Indian troops continues as at least 17 protesters have been killed and over three hundred injured in two days due to the indiscriminate firing of the troops in the Kashmir Valley. Nine persons were killed and over 180 injured when police and paramilitary CRPF men opened fire on protesters at several places in the valley on Monday. Of those martyred, two teenagers were killed in Kulgam, two in Sangam and one each in Karalpora, Kakapora and Batamaloo when CRPF troops and police opened fired on protesters. Locals at Sangam said that the troops caught hold of a handicapped 17-year-old youth, Arshid Ahmad Bhat and tortured him to death.

A seven-year-old boy, Sameer Ahmad Rah was beaten to death by CRPF troopers at Batamaloo. Locals told mediamen that Sameer was playing outside his house at SD Colony when a CRPF party caught hold of him. “He shouted pro-freedom slogans which infuriated the CRPF men. They beat him till he died,” they added.

A 22-year-old Imam, Muhammad Yaqoob Bhat, was killed in Kakapora when police and CRPF troops fired upon peaceful protesters who were on way to Khrew to express solidarity with the families of people killed in a blast in a local police station on Sunday. Eyewitnesses said that thousands of people from different villages were marching towards Khrew. On reaching Kakapora they were intercepted by police and CRPF troops and stopped from moving ahead. While 13 other people sustained bullet injuries, Yaqoob was also hit by a bullet in the chest and killed on the spot.

Meanwhile, Tariq Ahmad Shiekh, 17, who was injured by the troops on Saturday in Bijbehara, succumbed to injuries at a hospital in Srinagar. At least 36 persons were injured in Bijbehara town when police and troops resorted to firing on Shiekh’s funeral procession at Jablipora. Over 180 people were injured in troops and police actions in Nowhatta, Rawalpora, Bemina, Batamaloo, Hyderpora, Rawalpora, Sanat Nagar, Hazratbal, Harwan, Budgam, Khrew, Bijbehara, Qazigund, Kupwara, Trehgam, Kralpora, Handwara, Kangan, Ganderbal, Wudipora, Kulangam, Langate, Pampore, Naidkhai, Bandipora, Pulwama, Islamabad, Kulgam, Awantipora, Shopian, Kakapora, Kralpora, Sangam and Bijbehara areas.

The angry protestors attacked police stations, government buildings at several places and set ablaze a shed of railway station in Budgam.

Thousands march on streets in Kashmir, troops martyr six more protesters

Srinagar, August 03 (KMS): Thousands of people defying strict curfew restrictions marched on the streets in Srinagar and other towns of Kashmir valley, today, while the indiscriminate firing of Indian troops resulted in the killing of six more demonstrators. Of those martyred four were shot dead in different localities of Srinagar, one each at Frisal in Kulgam and in Baramulla.

Several protesters were injured when the troops resorted to firing and teargas shelling in Srinagar, Budgam, Bandipora, Naidkhai, Kupwara, Trehgam, Kralpora and other towns. The protesters, which included a large number of women, raised pro-freedom slogans, asking Indian troops to withdraw from the territory. The demonstrators blocked Srinagar-Jammu highway at several places. People took to streets despite the fact that the authorities had announced shoot-at-sight orders and Special Flying Squads had warned the residents not to come out of their homes.

Thousands of mourners attended the funeral of one of the martyred at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar. A youth of Khrew, who was injured in troops’ firing on Sunday, succumbed to his injuries in a hospital in Srinagar, today. As the body of the martyred reached Khrew, thousands of people assembled in the area and raised anti-India slogans.

The APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq continued to remain under house arrest and the authorities, this morning, re-arrested veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani from Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar. He had been released yesterday.

On the other hand, thousand of paramilitary personnel have been despatched from New Delhi to the occupied territory.

CRPF opened fire on peaceful protesters in Pulwama, killed another civilian

The death toll in the 56-day Kashmir unrest mounted to 49 on Thursday with the killing of another youth, Shabir Ahmed of Lonepora Newa at Pulwama in Pulwama district on August 5.

Shabir had sustained critical injuries when police and CRPF opened fire on peaceful protesters near Puwlama Degree College this afternoon. He was rushed to SMHS hospital where he succumbed. Injured have been shifted to SMHS hospital here and many injured are battling for life.

The death toll mounted to 49 on Thursday with one more person identified as Ghulam Nabi Bidyari, who was shot at by paramilitary CRPF troopers at Ganpatyar in Srinagar last evening on August 4, succumbing to his injuries at SMHS hospital here. As the word about his death spread in the area hundreds of people defied curfew and staged massive protests.

A 50-year-old Gulam Muhammad succumbed to a bullet injury, which he received during indiscriminate fire of Indian paramilitary troopers late Wednesday during pro-freedom march in Gunpatyar area.

On the other hand, restrictions remained in force on the movement of people in Srinagar and Budgam and other cities of the Valley while shops and educational institutions were closed and transport was off the roads.

The latest victim, identified as Mohammed Yaqoob, 27, was killed late on Wednesday in firing by forces at Nundrishi colony in Bemina. Earlier in the day, 17-year-old Iqbal Ahmad Khan succumbed to bullet injuries at Soura hospital in Srinagar. The teenager was injured on Friday by firing of paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers at Chanapora in Srinagar.

On the other hand, paramilitary CRPF troopers shot at and injured one, Ghulam Ahmed, at Ganpatyar Habba Kadal on Wednesday evening. Witnesses said the injured was rushed to a hospital in critical condition. Unconfirmed reports said another youth also sustained bullet injuries in the CRPF firing.

Meanwhile, at least 18 persons were injured in police actions in Budgam and Sopore.

The authorities re-imposed curfew in Islamabad, Sopore, Pulwama, Kakapora and Maisuma today. Demonstrations were held in curfew bound areas and other places. Police had to fire in air, burst smoke shells and resort to lathi charge to disperse the protestors. Thirty five persons were injured in the subsequent clashes. Normal life was paralysed across the Valley in view of a general strike against the recent killings. Shops and other business establishments remained closed. Transport also remained off the roads.

The curfew was relaxed in view of the Meraj-u-Alam festival since last evening. But due to the tension very less people offered the prayers at Hazratbal shrine this afternoon.
After 10-days of curfew, the relaxation was given in Islamabad last evening. But curfew was re-imposed there this morning after the protests.

However, curfew restrictions in the civil lines area of Khanabal-Pahalgam (KP) road were eased out till Saturday evening. Curfew in the town was imposed on June 29 following the killing of three teenagers inside a residential house at Anchidora. People have been complaining of shortage of essentials while life saving drugs and baby food according to the local chemists was not available.
Shutdown and protests continued in Bijbehara, Sangam, Mattan, Dooru and Achabal. The residents of the town have been demanding stern punishment against the police and officials involved in the killing of three youth.

Two youth have already been booked under PSA and are lodged in Srinagar Central jail while Qazi Yasir who was booked under PSA and was shifted to Kotbale jail.

Hundreds of youth assembled at Lal Chowk in Islamabad, burnt dozens of tyres, staged protests and resorted to stone-pelting at police and CRPF personnel deployed in the area. The police and para-military troopers, in retaliation to quell the protesting youth, fired tear smoke shells. After having failed to disperse the angry youth even after resorting to heavy tear-gassing, the authorities deployed huge contingents of police and CRPF in all the localities of the town which enforced strict restrictions on the movement of the people.

“Though the imposition of curfew was not announced by the authorities yet the restrictions were so severe that we were not allowed to venture out of the gates of our houses,” the residents told Kashmir Times over phone.

In Pulwama also, where the curfew was relaxed last evening after three consecutive days, the strict curfew was re-imposed in the morning after thousands of people assembled in the Main Chowk and held protests.

Reports said that thousands of people including women and children assembled near Muran Chowk and in a procession started marching towards the Main Chowk. Eyewitnesses said the police and CRPF men in order to quell the protesters resorted to heavy teargas shelling and cane charge triggering violent clashes. During the ensuing clashes, eyewitnesses said, at least 10 persons were injured after being ruthlessly beaten up by the police. Police also arrested at least five youth for taking part in protests.

To control the situation, residents said, the authorities again announced the re-imposition of curfew in the town.

After the announcement of the curfew, huge number of police and para-military troopers were deployed in every nook and corner of the town to prevent the people from taking to roads and staging protests again.

In Kakpora where 12 persons and nine policemen including a Dy SP were injured in violent clashes amid curfew yesterday, the authorities continued to put in place the strict curfew for the fourth consecutive day without any relaxation.

Meanwhile a complete shutdown was observed in the entire south Kashmir with no transport plying on the roads.

In Srinagar, since early morning the protestors came out in the streets at Qamarwari, Naaz cinema, Nowhatta and Maisuma of Srinagar city to protests the recent killings. However, they were chased away by the police and paramilitary troopers.

In Maisuma the police and CRPF re-imposed the curfew however they had to face tough resistance as the youth pelted stones on them. Police and CRPF resorted to tear gas smoke shells and resorted to lathi charge. In the subsequent clashes four persons were injured.
Raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans, the protestors were demanding action against the police and paramilitary soldiers involved in recent killing of youth at Maisuma.
The police and paramilitary troopers lobbed tear smoke shells and resorted to heavy baton charge to disperse the protestors at Nowhatta. In Parimpora, Chanpora, Peerbagh and Batmaloo areas of Srinagar city, the police had to lob tear smoke shells and use force to quell the protesters.
Reports of the protests were also received from Central district of Budgam. Reports said that hundreds of youth took to streets in Budgam town and Ompora area of the district. They were raising anti-India and anti-government slogans. Police and CRPF burst tear smoke shells and resorted to heavy lath charge. At least six protesters were injured in clashes in the central district.
The north Kashmir’s Sopore town remained under the curfew for the fifteenth consecutive day today. The authorities had relaxed the curfew in view of Shab-e-Meraj in town, however, had to re-impose after the protest demonstration.

Baramulla town of North Kashmir also witnessed the protests in the morning however, police and CRPF dispersed the protesters.

۔بدھ کو سالویشن موومنٹ کی طرف سے جاری ایک بیان میں تنظیم کے ترجمان نے شمالی قصبہ سوپورمیںنوجوانوں کی شہادتوں کےخلاف جنوبی کشمیر میں ایک پر ہجوم عوامی ریلی پربھارتی فوج کی اندھا دھند فائرنگ سے تین نوجوانوں کی شہادت پر مذمت کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ بھارت فوجی طاقت کے بل بوتے پر کشمیری عوام کے جذبہ حریت کو نہیں دبا سکتا ، بھارت جس قدر عوامی تحریک کو دبانے کی کوشش کرے گا اتنی ہی شدت سے یہ تحریک مضبوط اور مستحکم ہوتی جائے گی۔ترجمان نے کہا کہ کشمیری قوم نے آج بھارتی تسلط کیخلاف احتجاج کرکے بھارت اور دنیا کو یہ باورکرایا کہ کشمیرکی تحریک عوامی تحریک ہے اور اس تحریک کو زندہ رکھنے اور منطقی انجام تک پہنچانے کےلئے کشمیر کا ہر فرد سڑک پر آچکا ہے۔کشمیر کی فضائیں آج آزادی کے ترانوں سے گونج رہی ہیں اور پوری قوم یک زبان ہوکر ”بھارتی فوجیو ۔۔۔۔کشمیرہمارا چھوڑ دو“ کا نعرہ لگا رہی ہے۔ ترجمان نے کہا ہے کہ بھارت ہوش ناخن لے اور کشمیر میں ظلم و بربریت بند کرے اسی میںs بھارت کی عافیت ہے۔انہوں نے کہا کہ حریت رہنماو ¿ں کی شہادتیں،گرفتاریاں اور نظر بندی کشمیری عوام کو اپنی منزل سے دور نہیں رکھ سکتی، کشمیر کا ہر فرد بھارت سے آزادی چاہتا ہے اور اس حق کے حصول کے لئے کشمیری قوم مسلسل اپنے گرم گرم لہو کا نذرانہ پیش کررہی ہے۔اب وہ وقت زیادہ دور نہیں جب کشمیر میں آزادی کا سورج طلوع ہوگا

Three youths including two teenagers were killed and three others were injured when Indian troops opened fire on people in southern town Islamabad while local said that the Indian troops entered the houses and killed the youths.
Three youth were killed and two others critically injured in south Kashmir's Islamabad town Tuesday when Indian paramilitary forces fired on protesters, police said.
'Two youths identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad, 23, resident of Anchidora (Islamabad) and Ishtiyaq Ahmad, 20, resident of Dialgam (Islamabad) were killed and three others critically injured when military forces opened fire on Islamabad -Pahalgam road this (Tuesday) afternoon,' a senior police officer said here.
The incident occurred on the Islamabad -Pahalgam road. The three injured were shifted to Srinagar for specialised treatment. One of them, Sajjad-ul-Islam, 24, succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
People took to streets at Anchedura in Islamabad town raising 'pro-freedom' slogans Indian armed forces opened fire resulting in on the spot death of Imtiyaz Ahmad and Ashfaq-ullah and injuries to three others. The injured were rushed to hospital. One of the injured Aijaz Ahmad Baba was referred to SMHS hospital Srinagar where he was declared brought dead. Later, thousands of people took to streets, they said, adding that the situation was very tense.
Among the victims was 15-year-old Ishtiyaq, a class tenth student and 17-year-old Imtiyaz who was working at a baker's shop in Islamabad.
It was the second incident of firing in Islamabad today. Earlier in the day, the CRPF opened fire on a protest demonstration, injuring 15-year-old Ashiq Ahmad. He received bullet injuries in his leg. "I had gone to get roti from a baker when they fired at me,'' said Ashiq.

Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement on Saturday organized a blood donation camp at Chanapora here in memory of Shaheed Al-Hajj Abdul Gani Bhat on his fifth martyrdom anniversary. Bhat was martyred by anti-movement elements on May 14, 2005.

The senior APHC leader and Chairmen of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Zaffar Akbar Bhat who was arrested yesterday by policemen in Lal Chowk protest was shifted by the authorities to sub-jail Baramulla. Chairman of JKSM, Zaffar Akbar Bhat was shifted to the sub-jail, said spokesman of the JKSM. He strongly condemned the party Chairman arrest and termed it frustration of authorities.
Bhat also with dozens of Hurriyet leaders and activists was arrested in Lal Chowk after staging protest demonstrations, demanding release of all illegally detained Hurriyet leaders and activists including APHC senior leader, Shabir Ahmad Shah.
He appealed to the world human rights bodies to take notice of the worst situation of the Kashmir territory as the continued gross human rights violations had life of people in Kashmir miserable. Meanwhile, the Chairman of Peoples Political Party, Hilal Ahmad War who was also arrested yesterday was also shifted to the sub-jail. The party spokesman also condemned his arrest and termed it as an act of politics of vengeance to muzzle the voices of pro-freedom groups in the valley. -کل جماعتی حریت کانفرنس کا ایک اعلی سطحی وفد نے جس کی قےادت حریت قائدظفر اکبر بٹ کر رہے تھے نے ترال کے مختلف علاقوں دادہ سر کا دورہ کےا اورشہید ہوئے حریت پسندوں کے رشتہ داروں کے پاس جا کر رسم چہارم کی تقریب میں شرکت کی۔ حریت رہنما اور سالویشن مومنٹ کے چیرمین ظفر اکبر بٹ نے کہا ہے کہ مسئلہ کشمیر صرف اور صرف سہ فریقی بات چیت کے ذریعے ہی حل کیا جاسکتا مسئلہ کشمیر کی موجودہ صورتحال سے تمام دنیا واقف ہے۔انہوں نے کہا کہ ہمارا فرض بنتا ہے کہ ہم شہداءکشمیر، نظر بندوں، زیر حراست قتل کئے گئے افراد اور یہاں آئے روز بے گناہ نوجوانوں کی گرفتاری کو مد نظر رکھیں اور یہاں ہونے والے مظالم کو روکنے کےلئے مل جل کر بات کریں۔ انہوں نے کہا” ہمیں چاہئے کہ عوام حریت سے جڑ جائیں اور تحریک آزادی کی آواز کو مضبوط کرے “۔حریت رہنما نے واضح کردیا ہے کہ کہ مسئلہ کشمیر سہ فریقی مسئلہ ہے لہٰذا اس کا پائیدار اور دیر پا حل صرف سہ فریقی مذاکرات کے ذریعے ہی نکالا جاسکتا ہے۔انہوں نے کہا کہ اتحاد و اتفاق ہی مسئلہ کشمیر کے حل کی ضمانت ہےطاقت کے ذریعے مسئلہ کشمیر کو حل نہیں کیا جا سکتا اور اس مسئلے کے حل کے لیے مذاکرات ضروری ہیں انھوں نے کہا کہ کشمیر ایک سیاسی مسئلہ ہے جسے طاقت یا ریاستی تشدد کے ذریعے حل نہیں کیا جا سکتا- انھوں نے کہا کہ کشمیر میں بھارتی فوج کشمیریوں پر ظلم کر رہی ہے جو اپنے پیدائشی حق حقِ خودارادیت کے لیے لڑ رہے ہیںقتل عام کرنے کے علاوہ انھیں ظلم و تشدد کا نشانہ بنایا اور یہ سلسلہ اب بھی جاری ہے جبکہ کل جماعتی حریت کانفرنس کا ایک اور وفد نے جس میں حریت قائدین حکیم عبدالرشید ، جناب عبدالرﺅف اور غلام قادر راہ شامل تھے نے کھریو جا کر گزشتہ دنوں ڈاڈہ سر ترال میں شہید ہوئے حریت پسند شہید مشتاق احمد کی رسم چہارم کی تقریب میں شرکت کی۔ اس موقعہ پر شہید حریت پسند کو خراج عقیدت ادا کرتے ہوئے حریت قائدین نے اس عزم کا اظہار کیا کہ کشمیری عوام نے اپنے جائز حق کے حصول کےلئے جو قربانیاں دی ہیں اور دے رہے ہیں وہ انشااﷲ اس مظلوم عوام کی فتح پر منتج ہوگی۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیریوں کے عزم کو توڑنے کےلئے سرکاری سطح پہ تشدد اور ماردھاڑ کا جو سلسلہ شروع کیا گیا ہے وہ کسی بھی حال میں کشمیری عوام کو اپنی جائز جدوجہد سے باز نہیں رکھ سکتا ۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ کل جماعتی حریت کانفرنس کشمیری عوام کی قربانیوں کی امین اور ان کے خواہشات کی ترجمان کی حثیت سے مسئلہ کشمیر کو یہاں کے عوام کی خواہشات کے مطابق حل کرنے کےلئے ہر سطح پہ اپنی جدوجہد جاری رکھے گی۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ لاکھوں شہدا کی قربانیوں کے طفیل مسئلہ کشمیر کے منصفانہ حل کو عالمی سطح پہ جنوبی ایشیائی امن کی خاطر ناگزیر سمجھا جا رہا ہے ۔ بعد میں حریت قائدین کی قیادت میں شہید کے گھر سے شار شالی تک ایک جلوس نکالا گیا جلوس کے شرکا اسلام اور آزادی کے حق میں نعرے لگارہے تھے۔

The APHC senior leader and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Zaffar Akbar Bhat has said that resolution of Kashmir dispute is possible by giving the Kashmiris their inalienable right to self-determination through tripartite talks.
Zaffar Akbar Bhat while addressing a gathering at Dadsar in Tral, today, where Indian troops and police men had recently destroyed several residential houses with mortar shelling during siege and search operations and gun battle with the Kashmiri freedom fighters on Thursday.
The JKSM Chairman expressed solidarity with the affected families and said that the sacrifices of the people, which had centre-staged the Kashmir dispute at the international level, would not be allowed to go waste. He maintained that India would not be able to suppress Kashmiris’ resolve for freedom by resorting to brute force.
He on the occasion of the International Women’s Day, today, also expressed serious concern over atrocities on women in Kashmir. He pointed out that the police and paramilitary forces are frequently resorting to disgracing and harassing women and using them as war weapon. Kashmiris would not succumb to such nefarious tactics and take their mission to its logical end. He appealed the world community to realize its responsibility and put pressure on India to end bloodshed of Kashmiris.

APHC appeal people to maintain harmony

Srinagar, March 6: APHC senior leaders,Zaffar Akbar Bhat and Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi have appealed people to maintain traditional harmony and frustrate the designs of anti-movement elements who were hell bent upon dividing the Kashmiri people on communal lines.
APHC leaders while condemning the sectarian clashes in Pattan area has appealed the people of Kashmir to keep unity among their flanks to bring the liberation movement to its logical end. The Maulvi Lateef of Budgam was also accompanied in Hurriyet delegation, which visited the Pattan, Magam and Berwaah areas, today.
The delegation during their visit different villages said that Kashmiris should remain vigilant to the conspiracies hatched by the authorities to damage the freedom struggle adding that the people should keep unity among their flanks to scuttle the nefarious designs of pro-India parties
The leaders reiterated to continue the liberation struggle at all costs till its logical conclusion. The authorities cannot succeed in their nefarious designs as the people of Kashmir have pledged to secure the right to self-determination despite all odds, they added.
Kashmiris had rendered matchless sacrifices for the Kashmir cause and the day was not far when the people of Kashmir would get rid of Indian bondage. The APHC leaders urged India to realise ground realities and shun its unrealistic approach on Kashmir and take concrete steps to settle the 63 years old dispute. The resolution of the Kashmir dispute is a pre-requisite for permanent peace in South Asia,” APHC leader Zaffar Akbar Bhat maintained.

Zaffar condemns Hurriyat leaders’ arrest

The Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement Chairman, Zaffar Akbar Bhat has condemned the arrest of Hurriyat leaders, terming it a part of the oppression unleashed by India.
“It is a part of cruel tactics to crush the ongoing struggle in Kashmir,” he said while addressing a public meeting, a statement said, adding “Supreme sacrifices offered by the Kashmiris will never go waste and they will take the struggle to its logical end.”
He addressed people, protesting against the gross human rights violations and illegal arrest of youth especially APHC leaders. Zaffar appealed the UN and other rights bodies to take notice of the abuses committed by the troops in Kashmir and put pressure on India to take steps for the settlement of the dispute.

حریت کانفرنس کے سےنئر لیڈر اور سالوےشن مومنٹ کے سربراہ ظفر اکبر بٹ نے بھارتی حکومت کی سرنڈر پالیسی کو مسترد کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ یہ تحریک آزادی کشمیر کو کمزور کرنے کی بھارت کی ایک چال ہے اور ہمیں اس بات کا مکمل یقین ہیں کہ کوئی بھی کشمیری بھارت کی اس سازش کا شکار نہیں ہوگا۔ ایک بیان کے مطابق ظفر اکبر بٹ نے جامع مسجد اوم پورہ مےں جمعہ اجتماع سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ کشمیری عوام اس بات سے بخوبی آگاہ ہے کہ پہلے جوچند لوگ بھارت کی اس طرح کی پالیسیوں کے شکار ہوئے ہیں وہ آج کل کسمپرسی کی زندگی گزارنے پر مجبور ہیں جبکہ بھارت باز آباد کاری کے نام پر کشمیر میں نسل کشی کا ایک اور سلسلہ جار ی کرنا چاہتا ہے اور بھارت ایک طرف باز آباد کاری کی بات کررہا ہے اور دوسری جانب کشمیریوں کا قتل عام جاری ہے۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ رہا شدہ حرےت پسندوں کو آج بھی کیمپوں میں ہفتہ وار حاضریاں دینا پڑتی ہے اوربھارتی حکومت جب چاہتی ہے تو انہیں پی ایس اے کے تحت گرفتار کیا جاتا ہے۔ان کا کہنا تھا کہ انہیں نہ پاسپورٹ دیا جاتا ہے اور نہ ہی انہیں کوئی کاروبار کرنے کا موقع فراہم کیا جاتا ہے بلکہ بھارت ایسے نوجوانوں کو ایک منظم سازش کے تحت قتل کروانا چاہتا ہے۔انہوں نے پولیس کی طرف سے گزشتہ چند روز کے دوران سرینگر، ورمل ،سوپور،اسلام آباد ،شوپیان اور دیگر علاقوں سے سینکڑوں نوجوانوں کی گرفتاری کی مذمت کرتے ہوئے اسے انتقامی کارروائی قراردیا۔ظفر اکبر بٹ نے شبیر احمد شاہ ،نعیم احمد خان اور فردوس احمد شاہ کی گرفتاری اور کالے قانون پبلک سیفٹی ایکٹ کے تحت نظر بند کرنے کی بھی مذمت کرتے ہوئے کشمیر سے بھارتی فوجی انخلاءاور ےہاں رائج تمام کالے قوانین کی منسوخی اور تمام سیاسی نظربندوں کی فوری رہائی کا مطالبہ کیا۔ انہوںنے مزید کہاکہ کشمیر سے فوجی انخلائ اور وہاں رائج کالے قوانین کی منسوخی کے بغیر علاقے میں انسانی حقوق کی خلاف ورزیاں بند نہیں کرائی جاسکتی۔انہوںنے کہاکہ بھارت حریت رہنماوں کی گرفتاریو ں اور کشمیریوںپر طاقت کے وحشیانہ استعمال کے ذریعے جدوجہد آزادی کشمیرکو کچلنا چاہتا ہے۔ تاہم انھوںنے کہاکہ کشمیری شہداءکی عظیم قربانیوں کو رائیگاں نہیں ہونے دیا جائے گا اور جدوجہد آزادی کو منطقی انجام تک پہنچایا جائے گا۔ظفر اکبر بٹ نے جمہوری طاقتوں سے اپیل کی کہ وہ کشمیر میں غیر قانونی طورپر نظر بند حریت رہنما?ں کے ساتھ روا رکھے جانے والے ابتر سلوک کا سخت نوٹس لیں اور ان کی غیر مشروط اور فوری رہائی کیلئے بھارت پر دباوڈالیں۔ فورسز کی طرف سے حال ہی میں معصوم طالب علموں کی بہےمانہ ہلاکت کی مذمت کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ بھارت منصوبہ بند سازش کے تحت کشمےر میں نسل کشی کر رہا ہے جس کی تازہ مثال زاہد فاروق اور وامق فاروق کی ہلاکتےں ہیں۔اس دوران حریت لیڈروں اور کارکنوں کی گرفتاری کی مذمت کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ایسے ہتھکنڈوں سے کشمیر کے لوگوں کو اپنی جدوجہد بر ائے حق خود ارادیت سے باز نہیں رکھا جاسکتا ہے

Ahead of the March call to the United Nations Military Observers Group in Srinagar given by the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Police raided and sealed the Hurriyat office at Rajbagh and arresting senior Hurriyat leaders Muhammad Abdullah Tari and Zaffar Akbar Bhat late night.
Hurriyat announced a March call towards UNMOGIP office at Sonawar and demand action against the perpetrators of human rights violations in Kashmir. However, police and troopers sealed the Hurriyat headquarters to thwart any attempt of the conglomerate to march on Monday and arrested Acting President of the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Muhammad Abdullah Tari and Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement; Zafar Akbar Bhat was arrested by the police Sunday evening.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Agha Hassan Al-Moosvi, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza and Hurriyat activists were placed under house arrest besides several other Hurriyat leaders.
Shahuidul Islam said police was raiding different places in the city and had arrested several Hurriyat activists to thwart the Monday March.
Several hundred people took to streets at Nishat, and staged a protest at Kralsangri locality demanding immediate action against the troopers involved in the killing.
Meanwhile, shops and business establishments in Srinagar remained closed for the seventh day, today.
Chairman of Salvation Movement Zaffar Akbar Bhat and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yaseen Malik visited the residence of Zahid soon after the authorities relaxed the restrictions for sometime.
“The killing of Zahid is another example of the reign of terror unleashed by the Indian troops here,” said Malik while addressing a gathering at Zahid’s residence. Malik said that the forces who killed Zahid cab never be humans. He said that this was a clear case of murder and the people of the area should remain united and fight to expose the criminals and murderers.
The sacrifices of martyrs will never go waste and people should continue to protest peacefully against such killings of innocents, said Bhat and Malik.
Paying tributes to Zahid Bhat, the leaders said The killing is part of a pre-planned conspiracy against the people of Kashmir who demand complete demilitarization of Kashmir.
The authorities also banned the SMS news services on Sunday. According to one of the service provider, Valley Media Service, the ban was imposed without any prior information.
“Our incoming and outgoing SMS were barred. Authorities should ban the unscrupulous elements in the field not the genuine players,” said Jasim Rasool of VMS.

In a statement, Hurriyat leader said, killing of innocent youth and continued human rights violations by policemen and troops, deployed in Kashmir is to suppress the ongoing righteous movement for right to self-determination. The killing spree is going on unchecked in Kashmir due black laws given to the armed forces in the territory. Joint Association Of Kashmiri Affected Families (JAKAF) expresses concern over the continued gross human rights violations, killings, arrests and other types of atrocities inflicted upon innocent people in Kashmir by men in uniform that has made the life of people miserable. We are urging International community to take strong notice of the situation of the Jammu and Kashmir and send its teams to monitor the worse situation of the territory.
The first month of the year has witnessed a stepped up increase in human rights violations and civilians killings.
JAKAF observes a sharp rise in civilian and innocent killings by the Indian forces across the Jammu and Kashmir. Since 1st of January 2010 almost dozens of civilian killings have taken place at the hands of the forces and in this unabated spade of extra judicial killings young boys are deliberately and intentionally being targeted by the forces.
At Yakmanpora Parihaspora Patton on January 22, a young student namely Manzoor Ahmad Sofi was deliberately and intentionally killed and at least 15 persons injured by the forces of 10 IRP battalion.
Similarly the paramilitary forces of 62- 44 Rashtriya Rifles Shadimarg Camp and SOG Pulwama in Kalmpora Shadimarg Pulwama killed one 35- year old civilian, Mushtaq Ahmad Mir who was asked to provide a human shield to the forces.
On 6 January Mohammad Akbar Lone of Tangmarg was killed and media persons including one photojournalist Aman Farooq and Raouf Ahmad were deliberately shot by police official in Lal Chowk area.
one eleventh class student, Anayat-ul-lah Khan of Dalgate Srinagar was fired to death by the CRPF personnel deployed in Lal Chowk Srinagar on January 7.
On January 7, Mohammad Iqbal Bhat son of Mohammad Ahsan was arrested and disappeared in SOG camp at Dohnipora Lolab.
On January 16 the personnel of Central Reserve Police Force and Special Operation Group killed one Pervaz Ahmad Hajjam son of Ghulam Hassan Hajjam at Arampore Sopore.
One January 17, Mohammad Iqbal Malik son of Mohammad Shaban Malik of Lachampora Rajwar Handwara was arrested and in missing in custody.
Troops on January 19 killed Manzoor Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Nabi Bhat of Drangbal.
On January 20, a young boy, Mudassir Ahmad Teli of Urdu Bazar Srinagar was booked under draconian Public Safety Act on fake charges.
Another student namely Zahid who is struggling for life in the SMHS Hospital was shot at and injured by troops.
Policemen and paramilitary personnel ransacked the houses at Abhama, Kharanbal, Ahrabal Kulgam, Khrew Pulwama, Batamaloo and downtown areas in Srinagar.
The Association is in receipt of reports from various areas where the forces have unleashed a reign of terror and even the bereaved families are not allowed to mourn the death of their kiths and kins.
In this context it is worthwhile to mention that in Handwara the bereaved family of 70- year old deceased Ghulam Ahmad Sofi of village Ringpaith Kralgund Handwara was in clear-cut terms directed by the concerned forces not to observe the Resm-i-Chaharum of the said deceased on 26.01.2010.
Policemen and troops are perpetrating gross human rights violations in the territory with impunity. India should repeal all draconian laws and withdraw its troops before initiating meaningful dialogue process for the settlement of the Kashmir dispute.
The Association while paying rich tributes to the deceased persons expresses complete solidarity with the families of the victims. These killings were described inhuman and it was observed that the policemen and paramilitary forces have launched afresh-oppressive methods to terrorize the people and unnerve the freedom loving people in Jammu and Kashmir.

India can’t suppress righteous movement Srinagar, January 29: The senior APHC leader and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Zaffar Akbar Bhat has expressed hope that the international community will take serious and solid steps for amicable and peaceful solution of the Kashmir dispute. He reiterated that India cannot suppress the ongoing liberation movement through use of brute force and atrocities as the people of Kashmirare struggling for securing right to self-determination.
APHC leader, while addressing a Juma gathering at Beerwah in Budgam, appealed the world community and the international human rights organisations to take notice of continued human rights violations by police men and paramilitary forces in Jammu and Kashmir and put pressure on India to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with Kashmiris’ aspirations. He also condemned the use of teargas, lathi charge and bullet shots on peaceful demonstrators in Srinagar, Sopore, Baramulla and Pulwama areas.
Urging India to start negotiations to settle the Kashmir dispute, Bhat said the Kashmir dispute was so still unresolved due to rigid stance and military might policies of India.
He said that the people of Kashmir had rendered unprecedented sacrifices and they would continue their just struggle for securing right to self-determination till its logical conclusion. Bhat while paying rich tributes to Kashmiri martyrs including Shaheed Shamsul Haq, Mohammad Ashraf Dar, Nasirul Islam, Maajed Dar, Muzaffar and others said that the sacrifices of the martyrs will not go waste.
Demanding an immediate release of all detained Hurriyet leaders and activists, Bhat said that they were deprived of basic facilities in the jails and were suffering from several diseases in the jails.

: بھارت کے یوم جمہوریہ کے پیش نظر کشمیر میں بھارتی فوج اور خفیہ اداروں کے اہلکاروں نے سیکورٹی کے نام پر رہا شدہ حرےت پسندوں جو کہ سیاسی جدوجہد کا اہم عنصر بن چکے ہیں کو جھوٹے الزامات میں گرفتار اورعام شہریوں کو بلاوجہ ہراساں کرنے کا سلسلہ شروع کردیا۔ تفصیلات کے مطابق بجبہاڑہ اسلام آباد میں پولیس اور فورسز اہلکاروں نے شبانہ چھاپے کے دوران ایک رہا شدہ حرےت پسند ریاض احمد تیلی ولد عبدالحمید تیلی کے گھرپر چھا پہ کے دوران جھوٹے الزام میں گرفتار کرنے کی کوشش کی جس کےخلاف مقامی لوگوں نے زبردست احتجاج کیا اور ان کی گرفتاری ناکام بنادی۔یاد رہے ریاض احمد تیلی جیسے ہزاروں حرےت پسند مسئلہ کشمیر کے حل کےلئے سیاسی جدوجہد کررہے ہیں۔وادی کے طول و عرض میں پکڑ دھڑکے جاری سلسلہ کی وجہ سے لوگوں میں شدید خوف و ہراس پایاجارہا ہے۔ جمو ں کشمیر سالویشن کے چیئر مین اور کل جماعتی حریت کانفرنس کے سینئر رہنما ظفر اکبر بٹ نے کہا ہے کہ بھارتی یوم جمہوریہ کے موقع پر بھارتی حکام نے کشمیر کو پولیس سٹیٹ بنا رکھا ہے اور معصوم اور بے گناہ لوگوں کو تشدد کا نشانہ بنایا جارہا ہے۔ مقامی تھانوں میں قید کیا جارہا ہے بھارت جا ن لے کہ ان ہتھکنڈوں سے تحریک آزادی کشمیر کو کمزورکےا جا سکتا اور نہ ہیں ہمارے حوصلے کسی بھی صورت متزلزل ہوسکتے۔کشمےر ٓا زادی کی تحرےک کو طاقت سے دبا نے کا بھا رت خواب اور پالسےا ں ترک کر دئے کشمےرےوں کی قربانےاں ٓا زادی کا رنگ لائیں گے

انہوں نے کہا کہحرےت پسندوں نے موجودہ تحریک آزادی میں وہ کردار ادا کیا ہے جس سے تاریخ میں سنہری حروف سے لکھا جائے گا۔ ظفر اکبر بٹ نے کہا کہ ان ہی جوانوں کی قربانیوں اور صلاحیتوں کا نتیجہ ہے کہ آج پوری عالمی برادری کی توجہ مسئلہ کشمیر کے حل پر مرکوز ہے۔انہوں نے کہا کہ بھارت نہ صرف کشمیر کے اندر کشمیریوں پر ظلم کے پہاڑ توڑ رہا ہے بلکہ بھا رت کی مختلف ریاستوں میں موجود کشمیری طلباءاور کاروباری افراد کو بھی 26 جنوری کے موقع پر بے بنیاد الزامات لگا کر گرفتار کیا جاتا ہے۔ظفر اکبر بٹ نے بارہمولہ کے منظور احمد کی شہادت پرگہرے رنج و غم کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ بھارت اپنے یوم جمہوریہ کے موقع پر کشمیریوں کے خون سے ہولی کھیل رہا ہے جس سے بھارتی جمہوریت کا کھوکھلا پن پوری دنیا کے سامنے عیاں ہوتا ہے ۔انہوں نے 21 جنوری 1990 بسنت باغ گاو ¿ کدل میں بھارتی فوج کی اندھا دھند فائرنگ سے شہید ہونے والے درجنوں کشمیریوں کو خراج عقیدت پیش کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ ان کی قربانیوں کو کسی بھی صورت رائیگان نہیں ہونے دیا جائے گا اور جب تک کشمیر یوں کو ان کا بنیادی حق خود ارادیت نہیں دیا جاتا تب تک ہماری یہ جدوجہد جاری رہے گی۔ انہوں نے سالویشن موومنٹ کے کارکنان سے اپیل کی ہے کہ شہدائے بسنت باغ کے برسی کے موقع پر جگہ جگہ قرآن خوانی کا اہتمام کیا جائے اور بسنت باغ میں شہداءکو خراج عقیدت پیش کرنے کےلئے دعائیہ تقریب منعقد کی جائے

: سینئر حریت رہنما و چیئرمین جموں کشمیر سالویشن موومنٹ ظفر اکبر بٹ نے کہا ہے کہ بھارتی حکومت کی زیرو ٹالرنس (Zero Tolarance) کا دعوی عالمی براداری کی آنکھوں میں دھول جھونکے کے مترادف ہے، آزادی کشمیریوں کی منزل ہے، گرفتاریاں،کریک ڈاو¿ن اور ظلم و تشددہمارا راستہ نہیں روک سکتے۔ ان خیالا ت کا اظہار ظفر اکبر بٹ نے رہائی کے بعد ان کی رہائش گاہ پرملاقات کے لئے آئے ہوئے مختلف عوامی وفد سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کیا۔

برادری کی توجہ زیر حراست لاپتہ افراد کی بازیابی ،لاتعداد اجتماعی گمنام قبروں کی نشاندہی اور ہندوستان کے مختلف جیلوں میں سالہا سالوں سے نظربند کشمیریوں کے رشتہ داروں کی حالت زار کی طرف مبذول کرانا تھا۔تنظیم کے کارکن مطالبہ کررہے تھے کہ جموری ذرایع سے اپنا بنیادی حق ، حق خود ارادیت مانگنا اگر کوئی جرم نہیں ہے’ تو پھر کشمیریوں کا زیر حراست قتل اور لاپتہ کیوں ۔گرفتار کر کے بلاوجہ PSA) ( کے تحت ریاست کے اندر و باہر پابند سلاسل کیوں۔ ہماری ذی عزت ماں ،بیٹیوں اور بہنوں کو بھارتی فورسز کی طر ف سے جنگی ڈھال بناناکیوں ۔ہماری زرخیز زمینوں ،میوہ باغات اور رہائشی جگہوں پر بھارتی فورسز کا ناجائز قبضہ کیوں ۔۶۲ جنوری کے پیش نظر کشمیری خوف زدہ کیوں ۔؟“ کارکنوں نے مطالبہ کیا کہ حکومت ہند اپنے پہلے وزیر اعظم آنجہانی پنڈت جواہر لال نہرو کی طرف سے کشمیریوں سے کئے گئے وعدے کی پاسداری کرے۔ انہوںنے عالمی برادری سے اپیل کی کہ وہ بھارتی فوجیوں کے ہاتھوں کشمیریوں کو لاپتہ کرنے، انہیں جیلوں میں نظربند کرنے اور زیر حراست قتل کے واقعات کا نوٹس لے اور بھارت کو مجبور کیا جائے تاکہ وہ کشمیریوں پر ظلم و ستم بند کرکے انہیں ان کا بنیادی حق دیا جائے جس کا ان سے وعدہ کیا گیا۔اس موقع پر سینئر حریت رہنما و ایسو سی ایشن کے سرپرست اعلیٰ جناب ظفر اکبر بٹ نے میڈیا سے بات کرتے ہوئے بھارتی حکومت سے مطالبہ کیا کہ وہ مسئلہ کشمیر کے دیرینہ حل کیلئے ساز گار ماحول پیدا کرے جو کہ ریاست سے مکمل فوجی انخلاءمیں مضمر ہے ۔ مسئلہ کشمیر ایک سیاسی مسئلہ ہے جسے سیاسی طور حل کرنے کی ضرورت ہے اسلئے پاکستان ،بھارت اور کشمیری عوام کے ما بین مذکراتی عمل کو آ گے بڑھا نا بے حد ضروری ہے ۔ایسوسی ا یشن کے ذمہ داروں نے میڈیا سے پات کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ ہمارے لخت جگروں اور پیاروں کے بارے میں ہمیں ابھی تک یہ نہیں بتا یا گیا کہ گرفتار کرکے زیر حراست اُن کو شہید کہا گیایا نظر بند کیا گیا یا نامعلوم جگہ پر زمین برُد کیا گیا ۔ہم انصاف مانگتے ہیں اور انصاف کے علمبرداروں سے انصاف کی اپیل کرتے ہیں ۔اسکے علاوہ انہوں نے بھارتی افواج اور دوسری ایجنسیوں کے ہاتھوں ظلم و تشدد کے نتیجے میںا پنی زمینوں اور مکانوں سے بے دخل کئے گئے خاندانوں کی اپنے علا قوں میں بحفاظت و عزت کے ساتھ واپسی کا مطالبہ کرتے ہیں ۔

The activists of Joint Association of Kashmiri Affected Families (JAKAF)held a silent protest at Srinagar, today against the practices of custodial disappearances, unidentified mass graves and torture by the Indian troops, police and paramilitary forces in Kashmir.
The spokesperson of the Association, briefing to the media men in Srinagar, said that the purpose of holding of the peaceful protest was to draw attention of the International Human Rights Organizations towards the custodial disappearances in Kashmir, illegal detention of the pro-liberation leaders, activists and torture against innocent Kashmiri youths during Army operations /Crackdowns /searches / interrogation process.
He said that the Govt of India and its regime are deliberately lingering the issue of disappeared persons to hush up the matter. While expressing dissatisfaction over the judicial system patronised by the authorities, he urged for an Independent commission to probe the matters of custodial disappearances, killings and continued human rights violations.
On the other hand, senior Hurriyat Leader and Chief Patron of JAKAF, Zaffar Akbar Bhat was arrested when he led to join sit-in at Press colony Srinagar.
Zaffar Akbar Bhat while talking to Media, said that India should withdraw troops, repeal all the Draconian laws, whereabouts of custodial disappearances, identify mass graves and release all the illegally detained pro-freedom leaders and activists before starting meaningful talks on Kashmir dispute. He also appealed to the world community and Human Rights organizations to play its effective role in resolution of the lingering Kashmir issue.
Bhat also urged for tripartite dialogue process on Kashmir involving Pakistan, India and the Kashmiri leadership. He pointed out that the huge presence of the troops in Kashmir was the basic cause of every problem in the region

The senior APHC leader and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Zaffar Akbar Bhat paid glowing tributes to the memory of noted liberation leader and one of the founder commanders of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen Shaheed Ghulam Rasool Dar alias Riyaz Rasool on his martyrdom anniversary, today. Chairman of Salvation Movement, Zaffar Akbar Butt addressing a gathering at the party headquarter in Srinagar reiterated the pledge to take the mission of martyrs to its logical end. He said that Shaheed Riyaz dedicated his life to the cause of Islam and freedom of Kashmir. He described the martyrdom of Riyaz Rasool a great loss to ongoing freedom movement. The function was held to pay rich tributes to prominent mujahid commander Riyaz Rasool on his martyrdom anniversary. Paying while paying glowing tributes to the unprecedented sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs to the cause of liberation, which is unforgettable role in the freedom movement, would be long remembered said that the struggle for right to self-determination would continue despite all odds. On this occasion, Bhat appealed to the world community to exert pressure on India to stop bloodshed of Kashmiris and also help the people of the territory in resolving the Kashmir dispute according to Kashmiris’ aspirations. He demanded of India to release all Kashmiri prisoners languishing in different jails in Kashmir and India with immediate effect and repeal all black laws. It stressed the need to find a just solution of the dispute through peaceful means of negotiations involving Pakistan, India and the genuine leadership of Kashmiris which was imperative for resolving the Kashmir dispute. .JKSM Chairman also called upon the Secretary General of the United Nations to depute a special envoy of the Human Rights Commission to investigate the recently discovered unnamed mass graves in Kashmir.

پنے خطاب میں انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیری عوام تنازع کشمیر کا بنیادی فریق ہیں جب تک کشمیریو ں کو مذاکرات میں شامل نہیں کیا جاتا تب تک کوئی بھی مذاکراتی عمل سود مند ثابت نہیں ہوگا۔ظفر اکبر بٹ نے کہا ہے کہ مسئلہ کشمیر کے حوالے سے کئی قراردادیں اقوام متحدہ میں موجود ہیں اور ان قراردادوں میں واضح طور پر درج ہے کہ کشمیر متنازع اور حل طلب مسئلہ ہے اور اس مسئلہ کے مستقبل کا فیصلہ کشمیری کی مرضی کے مطابق کیاگا۔انہوں نے اقوام متحدہ سے اپیل کی ہے کہ وہ مسئلہ کشمیر کے حوالے سے تسلیم شدہ قراردادوں پر عمل درآمد کو یقینی بنائے تاکہ جنوبی ایشیاءمیں امن کا قیام ممکن ہوسکے۔دریں اثناء کل جماعتی حریت کانفرنس کے ایک اعلیٰ سطحی وفد جس کی قیادت ظفر اکبر بٹ کر رہے تھے نے صورہ میڈیکل انسٹی ٹیوٹ کا دورہ کیا جہاں انہوں نے محمد سلیم ننھاجی کی عیادت کی۔ وفد میں بشیر احمد اندرابی،عبدالرو¿ف خان اور معراج الدین کے علاوہ دیگر ساتھی بھی شامل تھے۔اس موقع پرحریت وفد نے سلیم ننھا جی کی عیادت کے لئے آئے ہوئے جے کے ایل ایف آر کے چیئر مین جاوید احمد میر و دیگر کے ساتھ بھی ملاقات کی۔ اس دوران ظفر اکبر بٹ اور جاوید میر نے ہسپتال میں زیر علاج چند روز قبل لال چوک میں سی آر پی اہلکاروں کی فائرنگ سے زخمی ہونے والے واحد ظہور کی بھی عیادت کی اور ان کے ساتھ بھر پور ہمدردی اوریکجہتی کا اظہار کیا۔

Lal Chowk operation ends, four killed

Indian army Commandos on Thursday stormed a hotel in Lal Chowk Srinagarkilling two Kashmiri liberation fighters, to end a 22-hour standoff that left also a civilian dead, sources said.
The two guerrillas, who attacked on Indian Central Reserve Police Force personnel threw grenades and opened fire Wednesday in Lal Chowk and later entered the Punjab hotel in the city centre and exchanged fire with Indian armed forces. "The operation has been concluded," Jammu and Kashmir police chief Kuldeep Khoda told reporters. "Two militants have been eliminated in this operation."
The Indian troops and paramilitary forces stormed the hotel shortly before noon and conducted room-to-room searches. "According to our information, two militants were behind the attack, but we are carrying out search operations to determine if there were more militants involved," Khoda added.
One dead fighter was identified by the Indian military agencies as Usman from Sopore.
Meanwhile, one identified as Muhammad Akbar Lone of Tangmarg of the eight civilians injured in the incident on Wednesday succumbed to his injuries on Thursday morning at the Soura hospital, the sources said.
The fighting also injured four Indian troops, a police officer said.
Dozens of armored vehicles swarmed the business district, which was closed to the public after the operation.
The injured civilians, who were hospitalized with bullet and shrapnel wounds, included a cameraman from a television news channel.
"We can only say that if there is no political solution to the Kashmir problem, these attacks are bound to happen," said Shakeel Ahmed Bhat, a software engineer with a shop in the area where the operation took place. Agencies

The aim and objective of the peaceful function was to highlight the sufferings of kashmiries besides inviting the attention of peace lover human rights organizations and the respected H.R. activists at international level.
The chairman, Mr.ZAFFAR AKBER BHAT represented the continuing arrests, detentions, raids, custodial killings, tortures. Molestation and fear and agony posed a “BEHIND THE BARS SIT-IN’’ along with his associates, in presence of the prominent print and electronic media functionaries.
The chairman, highlighting the most sensitive issue of MASS GRAVES, use of force, detention under Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and Public Safety act (PSA), addressed the peace loving international communities stressing for their earliest effective role for honorable and respectable everlasting settlement of Kashmir issue. The chairman further raised the issues of the harassment and thrashing of print and electronic media persons by security forces, Para military forces during their professional journalistic duties. JAKAF holds sit-in against hr violations in stringer

The activists of Joint Association of Kashmiri Affected Families(JAKAF) held a silent protest sit-in at Partab Park /Press Colony in Srinagar, today, againstthe practicescustodial disappearances and tortureby the Indian troops,police and paramilitary forces in Kashmir.
The spokesman of the Association, briefing to the media men in Srinagar, said that the purpose of holding of the sit-in was to draw attention of the International Human Rights Organizations towards the custodial disappearances in Kashmir, illegal detention of the pro-liberation leaders, activists and torture against Kashmiri detenues during interrogation process.He said that the Govt of India and its regime are deliberately lingering the issue of disappeared persons to hush up the matter. While expressing dissatisfaction over the judicial system, he emphasized to constitute an Independent Commission to probe the matters pertaining to custodial disappearances and killings etc.
Meanwhile, APHC senior leader, Zaffar Akbar Bhat while addressing the participants of the sit-in, said that India should withdraw its troops, repeal all the Draconian laws and release all the illegally detained pro-freedom leaders and activists before starting meaningful talks to resolve the Kashmir dispute. جن پر وہ مطالبہ کررہے تھے کہ جموری ذرایع سے اپنا بنیادی حق ، حق خود ارادیت مانگنا اگر کوئی جرم نہیں ہے تو پھر کشمیریوں کا قتل عام کیوں لاپتہ یا گرفتار کر کےPSA) ( کے تحت ریاست کے اندر و باہر پابند سلاسل کیوں۔ ہماری ذی عزت ماں ،بیٹیوں اور بہنوں کو سرکاری فورسز کی طرف سے جنگی ڈھال کیوں ۔ہماری زرخیز زمینوں ،میوہ باغات اور رہائشی جگہوں پر سرکاری فورسز کا ناجائز قبضہ کیوں ۔ انہوںنے بھارت سے مطالبہ کیا کہ بھارت کے پہلے وزیر اعظم پنڈت جواہر لال نہرو کی طرف سے کشمیریوں سے کئے گئے وعدے کی پاسداری کرے۔ انہوںنے عالمی برادری سے اپیل کی کہ وہ بھارتی فوجیوں کے ہاتھوں کشمیریوں کے قتل عام، انہیں جیلوں میں نظربند کرنے اور زیر حراست قتل کے واقعات کا نوٹس لے اور بھارت کو مجبور کیا جائے کہ وہ کشمیریوں پر ظلم و ستم بند کرکے انہیں ان کا بنیادی حق دیا جائے جن کا ان سے وعدہ کیا گیا۔اس موقع پر مقررین نے جن میں حریت رہنماؑ ظفراکبر بٹ بھی شامل تھے خطاب کرتے ہوئے بھارت سے مطالبہ کیا کہ وہ مسئلہ کشمیر کے دیرینہ حل کیلئے ساز گار ماحول پیدا کرے۔ انہوںنے بھارت پر کشمیر سے فوجی انخلائ، کالے قوانین کا خاتمہ اور تمام سیاسی قیدیوں کو رہا کے مذاکرات کی راہ ہموار کرے جن میں کشمیریوں کی حقیقی قیادت کو بھی شامل کیا جائے کل جماعتی حریت کانفرنس کے رہنما اور سالویشن موومنٹ کے چیئرمین ظفر اکبر بٹ نے صحافیوں کو بتایا کہ مسئلہ کشمیر کا پائیدار حل علاقے سے مکمل فوجی انخلاءمیں مضمر ہے۔

۔دریں اثناءجموں کشمیر سالویشن موومنٹ کے مرکزی دفتر راجباغ سری نگر میں تنظیم کے کارکنان کا ایک ہنگامی اجلاس طلب کیا گیا جس میں کشمیر کی موجودہ صورتحال اور حریت کانفرنس کی کارکردگی پرغور و خوض کیا گیا۔ کارکنان نے حریت کانفرنس کی کارگزاری اور جموں کشمیر سالویشن موومنٹ کے چیئرمین ظفر اکبر بٹ پر مکمل اعتماد کا اظہار کیا۔ اس موقع پر ظفر اکبر بٹ نے کارکنان سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ حریت کانفرنس میر واعظ عمر فاروق کی قیادت میں کشمیری عوام کی صحیح معنوں میں ترجمانی کررہی ہے۔اس اجلاس میں 10 دسمبر کو”انسانی حقوق کے تحفظ “کے عالمی دن کوبھر پور طریقے سے منانے کےلئے تمام تر انتظامات کا جائزہ بھی لیا گیا۔ اجلاس میں کل جماعتی حریت کانفرنس کی طرف سے اس روز کشمیر بھر میں بھارتی مظالم اور انسانی حقوق کی خلاف ورزیوں کیخلاف ہڑتال کی کال کو کامیاب بنانے کےلئے غور و خوض کیا گیا۔ تنظیم نے سرینگر کے مرکزی لال چوک میں خاموش مظاہرے اور پر امن جلوسوں کےلئے ضلعی سطح پر کمیٹیاں تشکیل دی گئیں۔ گزشتہ 60 سالوں سے 10 دسمبر کو پوری دنیا میں Human Rights Day کے طور پر منایا جاتا ہے ۔ یاد رہے کہ 1948 ءمیں اقوام متحدہ نے متفقہ طور پر ایک قرار داد منظور کی تھی جس میں اس بات کی یقین دہانی کروائی گئی تھی کہ دنیا میں آباد تمام انسانوں کے بنیادی حقوق کا تحفظ فراہم کیا جائے گا۔ ہر سال اس دن کو دنیا بھر میں جوش و خروش سے منایاجاتا ہے اور اس بات کا اعادہ کیا جاتا ہے کہ انسانی حقوق کو مکمل تحفظ فراہم کیا جائے گا۔ اس سال 10 دسمبر Dignity and Justice for all of us (تحفظ عزت اور انصاف ) کے موضوع کے تحت منایا جارہا ہے۔ ستم ظریفی یہ ہے کہ بھارت اس ڈیکلریشن کا زیر دستخطی ہونے کے باوجود بھی کشمیر میں جس انداز سے انسانی حقوق کی پامالی کررہا ہے اسے ہر ذی روح کانپ اٹھتی ہے۔ بھارت نے ریاست جموں و کشمیر میں گزشتہ دو دہائیوں سے انسانی حقوق کی پامالی کرتے ہوئے ایک لاکھ سے زائد کشمیریوں کو شہید کیا ، ہزاروں افراد کو جیلوں میں جرم بے گناہی کے پاداش میں بند رکھا ہے۔ بھارتی درندہ صفت فوجی اہلکاروں نے سینکڑوں باپردہ خواتین کے ساتھ دست درازی کی۔کشمیریوں کے گھر ، مال یہاں تک کہ باغات بھی بھارتی فوجیوں نے تباہ کئے ہیں۔ظفر اکبر بٹ نے عالمی برادری بالخصوص اقوام متحدہ سے پرزور مطالبہ کیا ہے کہ وہ کشمیر یوں پربھارتی فوجیوں سے طرف سے ڈھائے جانے والے مظالم بند کروانے کےلئے اپنا بھرپور رول ادا کریں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ بھارت نے کشمیر میں انسانی حقوق کی پامالیوں کے تمام ریکارڈ توڑ ڈالے مگر انسانی حقوق کے تحفظ کاڈھنڈورہ پیٹنے والی عالمی تنظیمیں پھر بھی خاموش تماشائی بنی بیٹھی ہیں جو انتہائی افسوس ناک عمل ہے۔انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیر ی عوام اقوام متحدہ کی قراردادوں پر عملدارآمد کروانے کے لئے جدوجہد کررہی ہے جو کہ اقوام متحدہ کے چارٹر پر گزشتہ 6دہائیوں سے موجود ہے لیکن بھارت اس عالمی ادارے تسلیم شدہ قراردادوں کو روندتے ہوئے کشمیر پر اپنا جابرانہ قبضہ برقرار رکھنا چاہتاہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ دس دسمبر کو عالمی یوم انسانی حقوق کو بھر پور طریقے سے منایا جائے گا۔

Protest strike against attack on APHC leader, attack condemned, described as abominable

Indian paramilitary forces and police men fired tear gas in main city Srinagar, today, to disperse hundreds of demonstrators protesting a near-fatal attack on senior APHC leader, Fazal Haq Qureshi, by unidentified assailants. He was critically injured near his residence in Soura Srinagar late Friday. The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has called for the shutdown strike in to protest against the assassination attempt on APHC leader, Fazl Haq Qureshi. Demonstrations erupted Saturday in various parts of the Srinagar. Chanting, "We want freedom," the protesters burnt tires and paramilitary forces who swung batons and fired tear gas to disperse them.
People took to the streets in Nowhatta, Gojwara, Rajauri Kadal, Malaratta, Khawaja Bazaar, Saraf Kadal, Soura, Sopore and Islamabad areas, reports said. At least a dozen people were injured in the city. Qureshi underwent a four-hour long operation in Soura Medical Institute and is now on a ventilator for respiratory support. "His operation was conducted last night which continued till 11:30pm and the doctors said he is stable but critical," Tariq Andrabi, a close relative said.
Qureshi is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital under tight security and no one is allowed to meet him except close relatives, Andrabi said. Doctors had said a bullet has pierced his head.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, said the attack would not deter the alliance from carrying forward peace talks, both with India and Pakistan.
"We want to tell those elements (attackers) that Hurriyat will not be threatened by these attacks, we will not pull back, we make a commitment that we will take this issue to its logical conclusion," Mirwaiz said on Saturday.
"There are certain elements within Kashmir who do not want a permanent solution to the problem. They want to continue the uncertainty so that their vested interests are protected. "We have vowed to stand by the sacrifices of the martyrs and work for a peaceful solution to the Kashmir problem by talking to both Pakistan and India," Mirwaiz told reporters outside the hospital where Qureshi is being treated.
The APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, talking to media men in Srinagar said that the Kashmiri Hurriyet leadership would not be cowed down by such attacks and the path of self-determination would be perused, come what may.
Those who visited Soura hospital to enquire about the health of Fazl Haq Qureshi included, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Gilani, Zaffar Akbar Bhat, Professor Abdul Ghani Bhat, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Mohammad Azam Inqilabi, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Yasmeen Raja and Mohammad Yousuf Naqash. They described the attack as an abominable and inhuman act.
The heads of Kashmir Centres in Washington, London and Brussels, Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai, Professor Nazir Ahmad Shawl and Barrister Abdul Majeed Tramboo, Mehmood Ahmad Saghar, Tufail Altaf Bhat, Raja Shaheen, Mohammad Farooq Rehmani and Sheikh Mohammad Yaqoob in their statements condemned the assassination attempt.

حریت رہنمافضل الحق قریشی پر نامعلوم مسلح افراد نے جمعہ کی شام کو اس وقت قاتلانہ حملہ کیا جب وہ سرینگر کے علاقہ صورہ میں مسجد سے نمازمغرب کی ادائیگی کے بعد گھرکی طرف واپس جارہے تھے،حملے میں وہ شدید زخمی ہوئے اور انہیں صورہ میڈیکل انسٹی ٹیوٹ میں داخل کیا گیا جہاں ان کی حالت انتہائی نازک بتائی جارہی ہے۔ گزشتہ روز صورہ میڈیکل انسٹی ٹیوٹ میں حریت رہنما ظفر اکبر بٹ نے فضل الحق قریشی کی عیادت کی۔ اس موقع پر انہوں نے حریت رہنما پرقاتلانہ حملے کوتحریک کشمیر اور حریت پر حملہ قرار دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ اس واقعہ میں جس کسی کا بھی ہاتھ ہو وہ تحریک کو نقصان پہنچانے کے درپے ہے اور کشمیری قوم میں انتشار پھیلانا چاہتا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ فضل الحق قریشی کا تحریک آزادی میں اہم کردارادا کیا ہے۔انہوں نے ہمیشہ مسئلہ کشمیر کو کشمیریوں کی امنگوں اور خواہشات کے مطابق حل کرانے کے لئے جدوجہد کی ۔ ظفر اکبر نے کہا کہ ایسے حملوں سے کوئی بھی حریت رہنما تحریک سے پیچھے نہیں ہٹے گا کیونکہ رواں تحریک میں گزشتہ دو دہائیوں سے لاکھوں کشمیریوں نے اپنی زندگیاں نچھاور کیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ کل جماعتی حریت کانفرنس مسئلہ کشمیر کا حل پرامن طریقے سے چاہتی ہے جب تک نہ مسئلہ کا بامقصد حل نکل آتا ہے ہم اپنی جدوجہد ہر محاز پر جاری رکھیں گے۔

A veteran Kashmiri journalist and founder editor of popular Urdu daily 'Aftab', Khawaja Sonaullah Bhat, passed away after a prolonged illness at Soura Hospital in Srinagar. Bhat (87), a bachelor, breathed his last at Sour Institute of Medical Sciences, yesterday where he was admitted on November six.
Bhat started his career in journalism in 1952 from a weekly 'Kashmir' in Azad Kashmir. He started the daily 'Aftab' in 1957.
Fully devoted to his professional life and his daily, Bhat, popularly known as 'Khawaja sahib', introduced the street sale of newspapers.
He had also authored a number of books. Bhat was the first to use offset printing technology for his daily. He also introduced photo-journalism in Kashmir. Various dignitaries have condoled the demise of the veteran journalist, was considered here as 'father of journalism'.
Doctors attending Khwaja said that he was suffering from chronic kidney ailment, coronary artery disease, renal failure, mxyedma, prostrate besides other organ failures. Thousands of people from different shades of life including APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Mohammad Yasin Malik, Zaffar Akbar Bhat, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi, Fazal Haq Querishi, Javeed Ahmad Mir, Farooq Ahmad Dar participate in his funeral prayers offered at Lal Chowk, today.

Khwaja Sanaullah Bhat was born on November 14, 1922, in the family of Ahmed Joo Bhat at Chatabal in old city. He passed his matriculation examination from Punjab University’s Lahore Board in 1938. Later he went to Rawalpindi to assist his brother in Kashmir arts business. He couldn’t excel in business as he didn’t like it. To look for better avenues and a job that suited him Khwaja Sanaullah Bhat migrated to Lahore from where he shifted to Bombay where he ran a British Army canteen.
In 1947, Khwaja Bhat went to Lahore and then to Muzaffarabad city of AJK where he was appointed as Settlement Officer. His job was to rehabilitate those people who migrated from Jammu and Kashmir to Azad Kashmir.
Khawja Bhat started his career as journalist in Azad Kashmir’s capital Muzaffarabad wherefrom he published weekly newspaper ‘Kashmir’.
However, he went back to Kashmir valley in 1956. Soon after that he started Aftaab first as weekly and then daily. He filled a vacuum as there was no independent newspaper after Hamdard of Prem Nath Bazaz whose publication was ceased in Kashmir.
Aftaab had many firsts in journalism to its credit. It was the first paper which was printed on offset press. Introduction of hawkers and home delivery of newspapers was also started first by Khawja Bhat in Kashmir.

prominent Kashmiri journalist, Chief-Editor of Srinagar Times, Sofi Ghulam Muhammad, 77, passed away after a , prolonged illness in Srinagar, t after a prolonged illnes, today.Ghulam Mohammad Sofi was Editor-in-Chief of and printer and publisher of popular Urdu daily, Srinagar Times. He breathed his last at Soura Institute of Medical Sciences, where he was undergoing treatment for the past two weeks. He is survived by wife and seven daughters.
His funeral was attended by the APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Gilani, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Zaffar Akbar Bhat, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Shabbir Ahmad Dar and a large number of Hurriyet leaders and activists and people belonging to different walks of life. They prayed for peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
Sofi who started his journalistic career as a reporter in Congress mouthpiece 'Khidmat' in 1960s launched his own newspaper, Srinagar Times, in 1969. He had been President of Kashmir Press Club and Daily Newspaper Editors Conference a number of times. He also authorised several books.

سینئر حریت رہنما و سربراہ جموں کشمیر سالویشن موومنٹ ظفر اکبر بٹ نے کہا ہے کہ مسئلہ کشمیر ڈیڑھ کروڑ کشمیری عوام کے بنیادی حقوق کا مسئلہ ہے ، بھارت کیخلاف جدوجہد آزادی تب تک جار ی رکھیں گے جب تک مسئلہ کشمیر کا کشمیریوں کی خواہشات اور امنگوں کے مطابق نہ نکلتا۔ اپنے ایک بیان میں انہوں نے اس عزم کا اعادہ کیا ہے کہ گزشتہ کئی دہائیوں سے جاری کشمیریوں کی تحریک کو حصول آزادی تک جاری رکھنے کےلئے کسی بھی قربانی سے دریغ نہیں کریں گے۔
شرومنی اکال دل کے پرصدر سمرن جےت سنگھ مان سنگھ کے ساتھ ملاقات میں ظفر اکبر بٹ نے کہا کہ اگر بھارت مسئلہ کشمیر کو حل کرنے کیلئے واقعی مخلص ہے تو اسے مقبوضہ علاقے میں ظلم و ستم کا سلسلہ بند کر کے مذاکرات کی راہ اختیار کرنی چاہئے۔ انہوںنے کہا کہ جب تک کشمیر میں بھارتی فوجیوں کی طرف سے ریاستی دہشت گردی کا سلسلہ ختم نہیں ہوتا مسئلے کے حوالے سے کسی حل کی تلاش کا تصور کرنا ناممکن ہے۔ مسئلہ کشمےر اےک سےاسی مسئلہ ہے اور اس کا حل بھی سےاسی طور پر ہی نکالا جا سکتا ہے لےکن بھارت کی ضد اورہٹ دھرمی کےوجہ سے ےہ مسئلہ طول پکڑرہا ہے ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ بھارت نے کشمیریوں کی آواز دبانے کےلئے ساتھ لاکھ سے زائد فوجی یہاں تعینات کردیئے، عوام پر طرح طرح کے مظالم ڈھائے، لیکن اس کے باوجود بھی وہ کشمیریو ں کے جذبہ آزادی کو کچلنے میں ناکام ہوا ۔انہوں نے کہا کہ کشمیریوں نے اپنے جائز حق حق خود ارادیت کےلئے ہر طرح کی قربانیاں پیش کیں، لاکھوں کشمیریوں کے خون سے عبارت اس تحریک سے کسی کو سودے بازی نہیں کرنے دینگے ۔ظفر اکبر بٹ نے کہا کہ مسئلہ کشمیر کشمیری عوام کے حقوق کا مسئلہ ہے ، بھارت اور پاکستان کو اس دیرینہ مسئلے کے حل کےلئے جلد مذاکرات کا آغاز کرنا چائیے اور ان مذاکرات کو کامیاب بنانے کےلئے کشمیری قیادت کو شامل کرنا چایئے تاکہ مسئلہ کشمیر کا دیر پا اور مستقل حل نکالا جاسکے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ تمام حریت پسند قیادت کو چاہئے کہ وہ سر عام میڈیا میں ایک دوسرے کی پگڑی اچھالنے کے بجائے تنقید برائے تعمیر کر کے آپسی اختلافات کو دور کریں ۔قائدین کانفرنسوں ،پروگراموں ،جلسے جلوسوں اور میڈیا کے ذریعے حکومت ہند اور عالمی برادری کو بانت بانت کی بولیوں کے بجائے یکجہتی اور ایک ہی آواز سے اپناپیغام دیںاور اسی ایک آواز کو لیکرسہ فریقی مذاکرات کے ذریعے مسئلہ کشمیر کو حل کرنے کیلئے اندرونی اور بیرونی سطح پر فعال بن کر تگ دو کریں
